The Sadducees, who did not believe in the resurrection, once presented a ridiculous scenario to trap Jesus. They questioned, “Whose wife will she be in the resurrection?” Jesus highlighted their two major errors, pointing out, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God”.

The Sadducees were ignorant in two critical areas: the Scriptures and the power of God. This ignorance led them to propose such an absurd question.

As Christians, we too can fall into the trap of being unaware of these vital elements. Ignorance of Scripture and the power of God can lead to flawed beliefs and misunderstandings about faith. To avoid this, we must commit to studying and knowing God’s Word deeply, allowing us to recognize and experience His power in our lives. True spiritual understanding requires both a strong grasp of Scripture and an openness to God’s active presence.
