Journey With Jesus 365ናሙና
Luke 10:33-34 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
The Samaritan had compassion and came to the aid of someone in desperate need. This beautiful account illustrates how Christ came to our aid when we were lost and drowning in sin. The Bible tells us that the Son of Man came to seek and save what was lost. Just as the Samaritan showed mercy to the wounded man, so too does Christ come to bind up our wounds, fill us with the Holy Spirit, and care for our needs.
The Samaritan went above and beyond—he not only treated the man’s injuries but also took him to an inn and promised to cover any additional expenses. This act of love and selflessness mirrors the love Christ has for us. The hymn captures this sentiment perfectly: “Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe; sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.”
In moments when we feel broken or alone, let us remember the compassionate heart of our Savior. Just as the Samaritan acted with kindness and generosity, God calls us to do the same. May we extend His love to others, reflecting His light in a world that desperately needs it.
