Judgment Or Rejoice?

With today’s passages in Isaiah and Revelations, are you receiving a picture of gloom and doom? Words in Isaiah we find are, "ruin, desolate, languish, burned up, split asunder, treachery, devastate, destroyed, weep and wail." In Revelation we also read, "Crimes, plagues, famine, weep, mourn, terrified, torment, ruin, death, violence, and Woe!" Sobering eternal phrases like, "never heard in you again," "never found in you again," and "never shine in you again."

Depressing says it lightly. In the midst of all this, however, we find, “From the ends of the earth we hear singing: Glory to the Righteous One.” We read, “Rejoice over her, you heavens! Rejoice, you people of God! Rejoice, apostles and prophets! For God has judged her with the judgment she imposed on you." As believers in the Almighty God of heaven, earth, and the universe, we can stand firm in His truth that He reigns eternal!

Prayer: Glory to God in the Highest! Father, let us rejoice in your truth and help us to pray for the nations that you may be known. Let your salvation be preached among all nations. Fill us with your presence and power to testify of your great mercy and love to those who are lost. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
