God’s Revelation For His People

Today’s passages from Revelation and Isaiah are exciting to ponder, meditate, and research. The reader may ask, "Who are those people tall and smooth-skinned, from a people feared far and wide, an aggressive nation of strange speech, whose land is divided by rivers--the gifts will be brought to Mount Zion, the place of the Name of the LORD Almighty" (Isaiah 18:7). Scholarly commentators and laymen alike provide their critique as they piece the puzzle together.

One commentator explained how the writer of Isaiah may have thought how this situation applied in his time and then applied the situation to our current times. Current powerful countries are named and sound reasonable. There are interesting views and we find encouragement and confidence in the Truth that God Almighty favors Mount Zion and will protect her in the end times!

Prayer: It would be wonderful, Lord, to know the identity and events that precede your coming. My heart yearns for your return and our eyes are on you. I know the times and seasons are in your hands, so please keep my mind, heart, and spirit focused on you to be faithful in the work you have called us to do. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
