Everyone. Everywhere. Part 1Isampula
Power of the Gospel: It can be scary to think about sharing your faith with someone you know. The desire to be liked, to not be offensive, or so many other excuses can get in the way of being bold in sharing our faith. How do we move past that?
First, we must remember that we are not alone in this process. Not only can we ask our friends and community to partner with us, but, more importantly, we can rely on the power of the Holy Spirit.
We also need to remember the power of the Gospel. The message we share gives eternal life to the people we love, and there is nothing more important than that. By remembering the Holy Spirit we have living inside of us and the importance of what we are doing, we are empowered to move past our momentary insecurities or fears for the hope and expectation of what God can do.
- Questions:
- Does it make you nervous to think about sharing your faith with people you know? How can you be reminded of the strength you have in the Holy Spirit?
- What would it look like for you to suffer for the Gospel?
- Prayer: Lord, thank you that you are a God that gives us hope in the midst of brokenness. Thank you for giving us power, love, and self-discipline. I pray for opportunities to share the Gospel with the people around me. God, give me eyes to see opportunities that are in front of me. Let your Holy Spirit speak and work through me, giving me the confidence and boldness I need to share your name with others. Lord, let it be your name and not my own that I seek to make known. I love you and I pray all of these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
