Living in Increase (Part 5) - Increase in FaithÀpẹrẹ
How is Your Hearing?
At the Space Center, all employees must take a hearing test annually. This test consists of sitting in a soundproof box, putting headphones on, and holding a switch with a push button. Each ear is tested one at a time by a sound coming through the headphones; when you hear the sound, you press the button. Sometimes, the sound is loud and easily recognizable. Sometimes it’s very faint. The test causes you to concentrate and listen intently to what is coming through the headphones.
To hear from God, we must listen intently. There are people who are committed to conveying the Good News of the Gospel, such as preachers, teachers, songwriters, and those who witness in their sphere of influence. These communications use various mediums like social media, radio, and television to share the Gospel.
Sometimes, the message falls on fertile ground where it is heard loud and clear to those who listen intently. Sometimes, it falls on deaf ears, which is very faint due to the many things in this world that compete for our attention.
Nevertheless, faith comes from hearing the Word of God. We come to Christ first from hearing, but the world, without fail, will continue to compete for our attention. That’s why listening intently to God’s Word is imperative. We grow in faith by continuing to hear the Word of God.
