God's Redemption Story (1 Kings - Ezra)Àpẹrẹ
Josiah - 3/5
When Josiah heard the words in God’s book of the law, he wept and repented. We might wonder why Josiah would feel the need to repent. He had never heard the laws before, so he didn’t know he had sinned. But God saw beyond the repentance to Josiah’s soft heart—and blessed him for it. When our sin is pointed out to us, do we respond with defensiveness and justification, or do we bow ourselves low before the almighty God and ask forgiveness?
Three thousand years ago, Josiah had to sacrifice animals on a regular basis in the hope that God might extend a measure of forgiveness. But Jesus paid our price in full so that we are clean and able to have relationship with God for eternity. Let’s set aside our excuses, accept Jesus’s free gift to us, and enjoy the love and blessing of our God.
