4 Lies and a Truth About JesusÀpẹrẹ
Jesus is a Republican – LIE
I can feel the anxiety building already. The next presidential election is about to happen in 2024.
I fully expect emails in my inbox telling me in ALL CAPS to endorse a candidate or calling for my resignation since I didn’t tell everyone to vote for their proposition.
Predictions of Armageddon and declarations of the End Times will abound. I’ll hear that both candidates are the Antichrist and if the other candidate is elected into office our world will no longer exist.
Through all of this, people clearly feel that the Republican Party is God’s party and if Jesus were here on earth, he would stand on the stage at the Republican National Convention stand holding Trump’s hand up in a victorious endorsement.
I don’t think so.
In Joshua 5:13-15, Joshua, the leader of the Israelite army, was prepared to take out Jericho, the symbol of strength in the occupied territory. Then he saw a man with a drawn sword and he asked him which side he was on.
“Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord have for his servant?”
The commander of the Lord’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.
How can you be a commander of God’s army and not support Israel’s side? How can you not hate those bleeding heart Jerichonians worshipping their disgusting idols?
God’s plans and purposes exceed a little war or a simple election. The angel had no message for Joshua telling him how to vote or which side to pick, he only said, “Take off your sandals. This is holy ground.”
God’s holiness exceeds the right or the left, the conservative or liberal, the Democrat or Republican. In fact, God’s holiness isn’t even the middle ground between the two. His holiness far exceeds above and beyond this direction or that direction, this party or that party, this ideology or that ideology. As Isaiah 55:8-11 says, our ways are not God’s ways.
It’s a LIE to think God is a Republican. God is in a party of his own and he could care less about any party’s platform. God has his own platform, the same one he had since the creation of the world.
We are sinful beings trying to make earth heaven and wishing our political heroes would save us from evil.
They can’t. Only God can and he asks you to accept and endorse his candidate for Eternal Ruler—Jesus Christ.
