Gratitude: The Game ChangerÀpẹrẹ
Change Your Mind
Do you find yourself thinking negatively during the day? Do you ruminate over things that have happened in the past? Before you go to bed, are you replaying every conversation you had throughout the day and wishing you could change your response?
If you said yes to any of these, it's time to change your mind! There is nothing more powerful than scripture to meditate on, and there are so many reminders in His word to rejoice, praise, give thanks, and worship—all different ways of saying be grateful!
Don’t know where to start? Here are some scriptures that remind us how God cares for us:
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? (Matthew 6:25-26 NIV)
Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. (Psalms 25:5)
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:58)
Remember, you don’t have to think every thought you have! Instead, meditate on God’s word and let it change your mind.
Action: meditate on the scriptures above or your own scriptures that are special to you. Repeat, write, and speak them—let them soak into your soul today.
Prayer: Father, I can’t change my mind or behavior alone. Thank you for being willing to keep working on us our whole lives! Help me take every thought captive, and remind me that I have the mind of Christ. I am made new in him! I don’t have to keep thinking, saying, or doing the same things. I am a new creation! Please give me the thoughts to think and the words to say today in Jesus’ name.
