Expecting the One With Many NamesÀpẹrẹ
THE NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES
No other king is more significant than our sovereign ‘King of Kings,’ Jesus our Lord. To be called the King of Kings is so adequate, for He is above all others.
“Which, he will display at the proper time—he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, 'the King of kings' and Lord of lords.” 1 Timothy 6:15
Jesus was named the ‘Lamb of God’ because He was the final and ultimate sacrifice. He took our place; He took the lamb’s place as the perfect offering.
“The next day, John sees Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the ‘Lamb of God,’ which taketh away the sin of the world.” John 1:29
Jesus was with God when the first man was created, and his name was Adam. He was born without sin but disobeyed God. Jesus, the 'Last Adam' also known as the 2nd Adam, was human and divine but had no sin.
“And so, it is written, the first man Adam was made a living soul; the ‘last Adam’ was made a quickening spirit.” I Corinthians 15:45
‘Life’ is a perfect name for Jesus. It is only through Jesus that we have life, and He made it possible for us to have life eternal.
“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and ‘the life:’ he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:” John 11:25
