Common Mistakes for New Entrepreneurs: Part IV
Failing to realize the impact of taxes, inadequate bookkeeping, and lack of a clear purpose are all common mistakes for new entrepreneurs. A fourth is inconsistent messaging.
You can present your business’s core purpose to the public in many ways, but the best traction comes when your employees use your core messages.
First, you need to know what your core messages are. If you’re confused by which messages to use, imagine how your employees, customers or prospects might feel.
As God destroyed the Tower of Babel, He said in Genesis 11:6, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them."
These people spoke for evil; imagine if your team used the same message consistently for good.
Questions for Reflection:
- What is the connection between a clear purpose and consistent messaging?
- How can a new business owner ensure all employees use consistent messaging?
- Why is consistent messaging important to a business’s success?
