When it comes to God and the Bible, character is something that is often highlighted. The word itself may not always be used, but the context and nature usually point to character. Character is defined as moral integrity, reputation, a distinguished feature. God reveals in His word that character is of great significance in the world. All too often the world tells us that our standards are set too high. But did you know that a definition for the word virtuous is "having or showing high moral standards."
Do we start off that way? No. The Bible tells us we are all born into a sinful nature. Yet, as we come to know Christ Jesus in our hearts, we grow, we mature, and our standards are raised. Although we are familiar with the word precious, I'd like to elaborate on it for a moment. "Not to be wasted or treated carelessly" is the definition, according to the Oxford dictionary.
Did you know that rubies can range in their color, from a pink to a deep red? Rubies are considered rare, and for less than a carat can start at one thousand dollars, according to the Internet. The fact that they're rare and the color of the gem is what drives the price higher.
Dear sister, this Proverbs 31 woman is rare—you are rare! We are precious in the sight of God. This woman surpasses others in a non-competitive way. Why? Because the Bible tells us that there are many capable women in the world, but this woman loves and reveres (fears or respects) the Lord God.
Question: Have you ever felt the Holy Spirit remind you that you are valuable?

Allow this devotional to encourage you. I've highlighted some things that stuck out to me. In doing so, I hope we can gain perspective from one another.
