DAY 16: THE TIME IS NOW

Key verse: Then Joshua asked them, “How long are you going to wait before taking possession of the remaining land the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has given to you?" - Joshua 18:3

In Joshua 18, we find that while most of the tribes of Israel had already possessed their land, there remained seven tribes that had not possessed their land yet. Joshua chides them saying “How long are you going to wait…?”

Indeed, procrastination can steal opportunities and victories from us.Here are three concrete steps we can take today to move towards His purpose and avoid the trap of procrastination:

Make a Plan

In response to the commission, Joshua told his men to ‘select three men from each tribe’, and gave them instructions to map out the land. He drew up a plan for the people. Similarly, we can respond to God’s call by making a plan with a timeline to fulfil the things He has called us to do.

Detail the Work

Joshua tells the people to ‘return with a written report of the land and map it out.’ He is not content with a vague or abstract understanding of what God is calling them to do. He requires details, descriptions and facts. What are the details of your plans to fulfil your vision to reach your neighbourhoods for Jesus?

Move in Faith

Lastly, Joshua tells the men to write the report with ‘their proposed divisions of their new homeland.’ Even in his instruction to the people, he is infusing vision and faith in every step, allowing faith to echo through every word.

Don’t allow your lack of urgency to cause the absence of victory.The time is now!
