Practice Meditating on God’s Word

ДЕНЬ 7 З 7

Practice It All Together

Look more closely at Proverbs 2 v 1-6. It is a conditional statement: “My son, if you… then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.”

We are not opening our Bibles to learn more about God. His aim for us is far higher: he wants to give us insight so that through his word we can know him - so that we can fear him as we ought.

These words – “fear of the Lord” and “knowledge of God” aren’t talking about a cerebral knowledge of God but a heartfelt experience.

As I open up God’s word, I often aim far too low. I am content just to know facts about him.

We need to raise our expectations. Bible-reading is far more than a comprehension exercise to be completed so we can tick off a box on a reading plan.

Meditating – asking the LORD to help you LOOK, TURN, LEARN and LIVE out the truth – is entering into the promise that culminates with “then you will find the knowledge of God.”

We need to raise our expectations as we come to meditate on his word. We can know and fear the very creator of the universe. Wow! As we center our lives around him, we will experience true life and peace, balance and calm, even in the midst of this busy, stressed-out, crazy world.
