More Than Just a Story - the Book of JohnНамуна

Jesus is tracked down by a government official from the town of Capernaum who has a sick son on the very verge of death. The man begs and pleads for Jesus to come with him to Capernaum and heal his son. Jesus asks the man, and any others within the sound of His voice, “Must I do miraculous signs and wonders before you people will believe in me?”
Early on in my walk with Jesus, I was like the man from Capernaum. Our infant daughter was suddenly and unexpectedly on the verge of death when here throat suddenly closed. My wife and I cried out to Jesus, begged and pleaded for Jesus to heal her, and He did! Our little girl went from blue, unable to breathe, to perfectly normal color and sleeping peacefully in my arms in an instant!
That was 44 years ago, and my eyes are filled with tears as I recall those supernatural moments now.
Since that time, I have begged and pleaded for the healing of loved ones and friends, only to watch them waste away and die. Have you also experienced both sides of that coin? Or maybe you haven’t experienced a modern-day miracle like my wife and I have. No matter what your personal experiences have been, the question of Jesus is still being asked of us today: Must Jesus perform one more miraculous sign and wonder for us to believe in Him?
Reflection Questions
What Miracle are you praying for?
If we don’t get a supernatural healing as a result of our begging and pleading, will we stop believing in Jesus as the Son of God, as the long-awaited Messiah, as our Lord and Savior?
