DAY 2 OF 5

CONFIDENCE

The ministry Self Esteem Elevated (SEE) was birthed at a time when I was seeking validation to my purpose and exactly who God called me to be. It also came when my confidence was at an all-time low. I kept wanting to be certain about something in my life. That is what confidence is, right? I needed the security and grounding that something in my life was going in the right direction, even though it felt like the opposite.

What must be understood is that God will always be the Advocate. In a world where social media gives us a glimpse into a person’s life through reels and stories, we are only seeing the highlight. The highlights have the ability to attack our self-esteem and make us feel insignificant or inadequate. Everyone wants to feel sure of their skills and abilities. It is important to know that your life is headed in the right direction, with the leading of the Holy Spirit.

When we look back at Moses, who felt inadequate, Elijah, who felt alone and Gideon, who was afraid, we see self-esteem issues aren’t a new phenomenon. What changed for them was knowing God was working on their behalf even when they couldn’t see it. When your God confidence sinks in, your self-esteem will be elevated.

If you want to walk in audacious confidence in order for your self-esteem to be elevated, these three pointers are designed for your breakthrough:

1. Allow God to change the way you speak to yourself. If there is a negative committee meeting every day in your mind to judge you, tell it “Sit down and be quiet." In the moments that you need it most, I ask you to remember and quote the scripture Psalm 139:14, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." This scripture gives comfort and peace that you are perfectly imperfect.

2. Let the Holy Spirit become your compass and your guide. Stop questioning every single decision you make. Begin to lean on the Scriptures to carry you daily. Instead of living in a paralyzed state of over-analyzing everything, let the Holy Spirit be your guide. John 16:13 says “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth.” Let this scripture consume you. Let it speak to you. Let it be your compass. You will move from being stuck to being catapulted in the areas you need it most.

3. Trust God. God gave me Hebrews 10:35 ‘So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.' Trusting that God is the ultimate advocate makes the faith process unwavering. There is a reward on the other side of holding on to your faith. Trusting that God is the ultimate advocate makes the faith process unwavering. This should help you walk by faith and not by sight.

God wants you to have courageous confidence. God also wants you to know that he is your advocate. Understanding and knowing who God is in your life creates stability and security. This should be felt in the deep crevices of your heart. Courageous confidence must be active. It is vital to the faith journey. God wants to make sure you SEE the way he wants you to SEE.

Prayer:

Father God, I want to feel confident in my place with you. Give me an ear to hear your voice and trust that it is leading me into all truth.
