Man of God: What Does a Man of God Look Like?Намуна
Men of God Treat Their Children with the Heart of God the Father
Godly men listen to their children. They answer their children when the children ask them something. They respect their children. When they speak, they speak words that give hope and healing.
A man of God tells his children that he loves them. This kind of love is not tied to anything their children might achieve—it is love without conditions.
A man of God makes time for his children so that he can get to know them. He tries to understand what his children are thinking -- their fears and dreams. He looks for ways to minister to them with wisdom.
A man of God is patient with his children, helps them when they struggle, and forgives them when they rebel and sin. Men of God are not offended when their children misbehave towards them. They are not short-tempered.
A man of God does not yell at his children and does not apply unreasonable punishment for wrong actions. He is quick to forgive when his children apologize and never becomes embittered toward them.
Godly men stand before God as the priests of their households to pray for their children. The lives of children whose fathers do not build a fence of prayer around them are open targets for the attacks of evil.
A man of God asks God for wisdom when counseling his children. He helps them to listen to the Spirit of God and obey Him unconditionally by also doing this himself.
A man of God does not make promises to his children and then fail to keep those promises — even if it is to his own harm and inconvenience.
These are the kind of men who provide security for their families through their words and actions. They teach their children the truth so that they can grow to spiritual maturity. These men raise a spiritual seed that will serve God, worship Him, and help alleviate the need in the world.
About this Plan
We need men of God today. They must be men with God's character, sanctified, broken, humble, and serving their families, churches, and communities with integrity, purity, righteousness, and dignity. Such men will be like salt, bringing hope to the world and the people around them.
