Man of God: What Does a Man of God Look Like?Намуна
The Church Needs Men of God Who Are Not Ashamed of Jesus
Zac Poonen wrote a pamphlet titled: "God needs men." The title alone is a powerful message. When God wants to do something in the world, He is always looking for a man (or a woman): "What the church needs today is not more technology or better, not new organizations or more novel methods, but men whom the Holy Spirit can use. The Holy Spirit does not flow through methods but through men. He does not come on technology but on men. He does not anoint plans, but men... natural ability and educational advantages do not figure as factors in this matter, but capacity for faith, the ability to pray, the power of thorough consecration, the ability of self-littleness, an absolute loss of one's self in God's glory and an ever-present and insatiable yearning and seeking after all the fullness of God-men who can set the church ablaze for God; with an intense and quiet heat that melts and moves everything for God... God can work wonders if He can get suitable men.." (E.M. Bounds).
Men of God are like Elijah. In 1 Kings 17:1, we read: Elijah the Tishbite was an attendant from Gilead. He told Ahab, "As surely as the Lord lives, the God of Israel before whom I stand... Elijah was more aware of God's presence and greatness than of Ahab, one of the most wicked kings of Israel, and Jezebel, his even more wicked wife.
Men of God stand before God and are more aware of God than the world. They seek God's face and are willing to live face-to-face with Him day by day.
These men desire to know Jesus Christ and experience the power of His resurrection (Philippians 3:10-11).
Men of God's greatest ambitions are not focused on self-preservation and self-glorification but rather on living in God's presence and keeping His commandments (Ecclesiastes 12:13).
A man of God trusts God regardless of his circumstances.
He is not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ and is not afraid to be counted as a follower of Jesus.
Godly men like to talk about Jesus. It is easy to identify them as followers of Jesus.
About this Plan
We need men of God today. They must be men with God's character, sanctified, broken, humble, and serving their families, churches, and communities with integrity, purity, righteousness, and dignity. Such men will be like salt, bringing hope to the world and the people around them.
