Don't underestimate your youth
“Then I said, ‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.’ But the Lord said to me, ‘Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.’” (Jeremiah 1:6-7)
Jeremiah was youthful and felt a natural hesitation when sent on an important mission by the Lord, but the One who sent him didn't want him to declare, “I am only a youth.” What he possessed in himself shouldn't be emphasized, but rather overshadowed by the fact that he was chosen to convey God's message. He didn't have to devise or select a message, nor pick an audience: he simply had to deliver what God commanded, wherever God sent him, and he would be empowered to do so with strength beyond his own.
Isn't this true for some young people who might be reading these words? God understands your youthfulness, limited knowledge, and experience, but if He chooses to send you, you shouldn't shy away from the divine calling. God will demonstrate His greatness through our weakness. Even if you were as old as Methuselah, how much would your age really aid you? Even if you were as wise as Solomon, you might still be as stubborn as he was. Stick to your message, and it will be your wisdom; follow your orders, and they will guide your judgment.
