Divine Encouragement

DAY 5 OF 7

God Will Answer

“He fulfills the desire of those who fear Him; He also hears their cry and saves them.” (Psalm 145:19)

The desire within us has been instilled by God’s Spirit, and thus, He will surely respond to it. It's His own divine presence within us that stirs up this longing, and therefore, He will listen to our cries. Those who revere Him are influenced by the highest holiness, and thus, their desire is to glorify God and find everlasting joy in Him. They are people of deep desires, and the Lord will grant them the realization of their hopes.

These holy desires are like seeds of grace, and the heavenly Gardener will nurture them until they blossom into full maturity. God-fearing people long to be sanctified, to be of service, to bless others, and thus, bring honor to their Lord. They seek provision for their needs, assistance in carrying burdens, guidance in times of confusion, and deliverance from distress. At times, these desires become so intense, their circumstances so challenging, that they cry out in anguish like children in pain, and it's then that the Lord acts most comprehensively, doing all that is necessary, as promised: “He hears their cry and saves them.”

Indeed, if we fear God, we have nothing else to fear; if we call upon the Lord, our salvation is assured. Taste the sweetness of this truth, let it linger on your lips throughout the day, for it will be to you as satisfying as “a wafer made with honey”, as was said about manna, Israel’s heavenly bread.
