Leave traces of love

Have you ever had that feeling when you're new somewhere and everyone else already knows each other, that you don’t know what to say? This happened to me recently at a birthday party.

When I was asked what I do, I told them a few things. Suddenly one of the women exclaimed, “Wow, you believe in God? You must know this pastor from around here?" And before she said his name, I thought: "Hopefully something positive will come out of this conversation!" Have you experienced this kind of situation too?

I was very happy when the woman said: "It's so great! I met him at a friend's wedding and his words really touched my heart! Since then he has performed the marriage ceremony for my husband and me. The way he preaches and lives his faith really impressed us all!”

I can't tell you how happy, even proud I was at that moment. This could have been a moment that ruined everything. If the pastor had given a half-hearted sermon or hadn't invested so much time and love in the bridal couple, whether or not they were Christians, they wouldn't have been so moved by his faith…

...and I would not have found open hearts at that moment at the party! When people have been hurt, they often have trouble trusting others, but if they have experienced a positive influence, they may be more open to hearing from us when we talk about Jesus.

Let's always leave a mark of love, generosity and encouragement! “...so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God." (Colossians 1:10 NIV)

Rejoice, even if you are not the person who leads them to Jesus, but trust that God will lead them and that you were able to have a part in the journey!

Never underestimate what God does through a moment of appreciation!
