Love God Greatly: Empowered

DAY 32 OF 40

Even after his arrest, Paul knew what his mission was: to be a witness to all people of the truth of Jesus Christ. Paul was called by Jesus, during his miraculous conversion (Ac 9), to preach the gospel. Paul repented of his sins, called on the name of the Lord, and led many to Christ.⁣

Paul was not the only one who received this calling. When Jesus ascended to heaven He instructed all of His followers to preach the Word to all nations and to make disciples. They were to be witnesses in their age of the goodness of Christ and the salvation available to all who believe. ⁣

If the disciples or Paul had viewed those commands as exclusively for them, we likely would not have heard the gospel. The gospel continued to spread and multiply because all who heard it continued to proclaim it to others. We have heard because someone told us. We have the same calling, the same command from Jesus to preach the Word and make disciples. As we continue in the work of the gospel today, may we be confident and assured that the Lord is still with us. He was with Paul and the early disciples in everything they faced and He will empower us as we proclaim His name. ⁣

Father God, I ask You for boldness to share the gospel with others. I believe You have called me to proclaim Your name to the world, and I know I can do that every day, right where I am. Please bring people into my life who do not know You. Let me be a light and a witness to the gospel every day. Amen.

About this Plan

Love God Greatly: Empowered

Empowered: Yesterday and Today is a deep study of the book of Acts. As we study the early church and the spread of the gospel we hope to find encouragement and strength to continue spreading the message of the gospel in our spheres of influence. God empowered the early church to share the gospel every single day, and He does the same for us, even now.
