Finding And Living Out Your PurposeНамуна
Our Purpose Is To Honor Authority
Peter speaks to his audience about honoring the local rulers and authorities of the land. In today’s context, it means that we must pay our taxes, abide by the rules set by our governments and diligently pray for our leaders. The Bible says that it is God who appoints rulers and it is He who deposes of them as well. This also translates to our bosses, team leaders, and managers at work and places of study. This means we mustn't forget that all our leaders have been given their positions by our God. They may be unrighteous, corrupt or ruthless but we must pray for them, and we must trust God to do what is best for our land, our careers, and our future through them. We may have discovered the purpose for our lives but we cannot execute that purpose if we are at loggerheads with the authority figures God has placed in our lives. Like Jesus said in response to the question about paying taxes, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s”. God cannot bless our purpose and bring fruit from it if we are uncooperative to those in power.
As we complete this plan, may we begin to be ready to share the story of our salvation, honor all people, love the brotherhood of believers, fear God and honor the King because, through this, we will find our life’s purpose.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, I thank you for speaking to me through your word. I pray that you will give me the ability to submit to authority that you have placed over my life and allow you to work in them and through them. I pray that as I live this life on earth you will fulfill your plans and purposes for my life. In Jesus’ name Amen.
About this Plan
Are you feeling purposeless in life? Do you think you were made for more? This Bible plan is meant to connect you to your Maker, the only one who truly knows your purpose. Once connected to Him, He begins to use us in ways we may never have dreamed of and with a passion we didn’t know we were capable of until then.
