Book of Isaiah

DAY 10 OF 22

STAY CALM AND TRUST

Everyone experiences difficult times in their life. What should we do when it happens? The Book of Isaiah gives the advice to settle our difficulties by staying calm and trusting God. Remember not to panic or be anxious, because anxiety will never produce a solution but will only bring us into more difficult conditions.

How good it is if we can deal with our difficulties in peace with the assurance of God's Word. Even when the current problem cannot be resolved, stay calm and do not be anxious. The Word of God in today's meditation says: "For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: "For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength" (Isaiah 30:15 KJV).

This does not mean that we do not need to do anything when the problems come but that we need to remain calm. Calmness enables us to take time to fill our minds with God's promises, then earnestly believe in them. Therein lies the real power, says the Word of God.

In a frantic state we will not be able to do that and consequently we will increasingly lose our strength. That is why the Lord encourages us to be calm, "be still", and realize that we have a God so loving, a God who is able to save us with His mighty hand, who always guide us, and He will walk with us as we face and solve the problem.

God's help will not come out of our anxiety but in staying calm and trusting Him.
