Book of Isaiah

DAY 13 OF 22

ONLY YOU ARE GOD

In the book of Isaiah 37 we find out that King Hezekiah sought the Lord's help when Sennacherib, King of Assyria, sent a great army, insulting and attacking Judah. This is how Hezekiah prayed: "Now therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the LORD, You alone”. (Isaiah 37:20 NKJV) King Hezekiah prayed to God when the King of Assyria besieged the city of Jerusalem and rudely insulted the name of God.

Sennacherib, the Assyrian King, boasted against the Lord and he asked who among all the gods of those lands could deliver their countries from his hand? Faced with humiliation, King Hezekiah humbly begged God for help. He prayed to God and in prayer he did not ask for salvation only for himself and the Israelites, but that everyone would know that He alone was God.

We can depend only on God and surrender totally to Him, because only through Him we get our help in facing every problem that exists. We need to know that because Jesus is God, we do not have to worry about anything, because only He rules our lives. Even in the storm, His hand is there to protect us. The God who leads our life directs us to His perfect path. Let God be the one who governs everything so that His perfect plan happens.

Our Lord is a living and miraculous God. He is worthy of all glory who knew us before we were born. Let’s keep declaring God as the only owner of our life. There is no other god beside Him.

Whole universe is under God’s control because He alone is sovereign.
