Book of Deuteronomy

DAY 3 OF 11

GOD IS THE SOURCE OUR SUCCESS

God had a purpose as He led the Israelites out of Egypt: He wanted to reveal His mighty and powerful personality to the surrounding nations. God parted the Red Sea for the Israelites to cross over. God’s provisions during their time in the desert were  signs and wonders of Who was with the Israelites. These miracles created fear of the God of Israel in the surrounding nations.

When the Israelites continued worshipping God and following His statues they could see His leading. But when they started to turn away from Him to worship other gods, His wrath fell upon them.

The Israelites have to acknowledge that if they can walk through the desert and come into Promised Land, it is not by their might and power, but because the God and His power. They have to keep their steps aligned with God’s commands if they want Him to take care of them.

As water flows from a higher place to a lower place, it is the same when we are humble before God. His blessings will flow to us from His high place.

God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Humbleness is  a realization that we cannot do anything without God and our life is meaningless without Him. In this life there are so many things that can cause us to be proud and arrogant so that we forget about God. Remember, God is the source of our success.

Being humble is relying on God alone and no other.
