The Domino Effect

DAY 4 OF 28

Peter and John had been arrested for healing a lame man, and they caused a dramatic commotion all around them. People were beginning to believe more and more about Jesus and the effect he could have on people. The elders and pharisees gathered Peter and John together and asked them what was going on.  Acts 4:13 says, When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished, and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.”

Do people even put you and Jesus together. At your work, where you play, at your kids’ practice, do people look at you and say, “Wow! This guy/girl HAS to know Jesus! A domino effect takes courage, not college.

In verse 11 it says, Jesus is the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.” Jesus was the central reason for everything the disciples did. They didn’t want to just be “good” people. They wanted to do everything for the fame of the name of Jesus. If they were just “good” people, they would create their own domino effect, but they were willing to jump into the domino effect of Jesus with every move they made.
