The Domino Effect

DAY 6 OF 28

In Acts 6, Stephen gets accused of conspiring the people to think negatively about the synagogue and the Old Testament. In verse 11 it says, Then they secretly persuaded some men to say, “We have heard Stephen speak blasphemous words against Moses and against God.” People lied about Stephen, his character and his intentions, and he ended up getting stoned to death. This was a wakeup call to all believers. They all began to freak out. Saul was pulling Christians out of their homes and murdering them. So, all of the Christians began to run, escape from the pressure and start over. Have you ever had a time in your life like that? Maybe being a Christian just got too hard? There was too much risk? Too much pressure? Too many chances you had to take?

Yes, the Christians ran away. But they settled down and continued their mission. They took a break from building their domino line. They didn’t put all the dominoes in the bag and throw them all away. They didn’t throw away the mission or the call. Because they continued the mission. In Acts 11:21, it says, “ The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.” It’s never too late to come back to the mission. Whether you ran away, you have been hurt by the church, the people in the church, or you are just nervous about the repercussions of following Jesus 100%, the mission is still available to you. Make disciples that make disciples for the fame of the name of Jesus.

The Domino Effect

You’ve heard of the domino effect, right? The term is used to describe when one event sets off a chain reaction of other events.. Is your life, your choices and your commitments creating a domino line? Our mission and call as believers in Jesus is to continue to build our domino line so generation after generation will be able to proclaim the name of Jesus.
