God Is ... Through Matthew

DAY 7 OF 28

God is . . . A Good Father

“So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.” Matthew 7:11 NLT

Sometimes it’s easy to think that God is a person just like you, but He isn’t. Jesus came to us as a man, but God never left His heavenly throne. He is better than we are. He is perfect and knows all things. He sees everything from beginning to end.

I had parents who made mistakes, and I’m sure that yours did, too. But we have a heavenly Father who loves us and cares for us perfectly. Psalm 27:10 explains that even if our mother and father abandon us, the Lord himself will take care of us. He is a good Father! He is a good God.

What have you been wishing or waiting for, but have not yet asked God for? Ask Him. He gives good things to those who ask!

Prayer:

Father, teach me to see You more clearly as the perfect Daddy I have always wanted. Help me to be confident that You will give good gifts when I ask. I love you. Amen in Jesus’ name.
