The Biblical Benefit Of HindsightНамуна
Increasingly I find watching the TV news distressing. Our world seems to deliver new atrocities daily, whether it be human suffering, religious persecution, or damage to our planet. What a comfort it is to know that we are promised that all will be made new again. Perhaps we’re not quite sure in what form, but that’s largely irrelevant – what’s important is that ours and the world’s suffering, pain and sadness will be no more once Jesus returns. Now that will be a news bulletin worth watching! (Note: the word ‘sea’ in the Old Testament was often used in reference to evil, not the big, blue, wobbly thing that fish swim in…;))
Do you ever despair of the pain and suffering around you? And can you also rest in the promise of a new earth?
Pray: Dear Lord Jesus, as we travel through this life with all its pain and suffering, help us to focus on your promise of a new heaven and a new earth, and your promise to overcome evil and bring judgement upon those who perpetrate it. Amen.

About this Plan
The irritating benefit of hindsight is that it is often easier to see why we should have listened to biblical wisdom when we suffer through trials and difficulties. The one thing I keep learning is that the wisdom was there all along; I just needed to look for it. It is one thing to have faith in your head. It is quite another to live out that faith in your heart, day by day.
