The Kids Prayer Covenant-How To Talk To God Each DayНамуна
It’s all about LOVE!
Can You Say It?
Pray: Help me love and obey you.
Memory Verse: Say Matthew 22:37, 38 three times.
Can You See It?
Our story today is found in Genesis 12:1-5. It’s the story of Abraham and Sarah. Abraham lived a very, very, very long time ago. When he was pretty old, God asked him to leave his country and relatives and go far away to a new home that he would show them.
God promised to bless Abraham and make his descendants into a great nation. He said, “Everyone on earth will be blessed because of you.” So Abraham obeyed God. He left with his wife Sarah and his nephew, Lot, and all of their belongings. They moved from a city called Heron to their new home, which they called the Promised Land.
Can you think of why Abraham did what God asked him to do? The answer is simple. He was learning to love and obey God.
In the New Testament, Jesus shared with his disciples the Greatest Commandment. It is today’s memory verse. Jesus wants us to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength. He also wants us to love our neighbor as ourselves. Jesus said if we keep those two commandments we won’t have to worry about the rest.
Can You Do It?
Show your love for God by being obedient to whatever he asks.
Obey your parents because this honors God.
Commit to living out the Greatest Commandments each day.
Pray: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me and making me one of your children. Help me love and obey you.
