Grief Bites: Finding Treasure In HardshipsUzorak
Have you ever wondered why God sometimes doesn't answer us in times of great need?
One reason may be because we willingly continue to sin and scoff at wisdom.
God attempts to gain our attention, but we rebelliously make the decision to keep going in the wrong direction.
In these times, we need to consider what God sternly warns us about in the first chapter of Proverbs...God cries out for us to listen to Wisdom.
Anytime we go through a heartbreaking problem due to our own sin, or a past sin, we have to admit that our pain is ultimately self-inflicted
Loss and grief that is self-inflicted usually happens when we choose to continually and willingly sin...we chose at some point to turn our hearts away from God and attempted to fill our needs, wants, and desires apart from Him and His Will.
Think about it. God gives each of us a heart that only He can truly fill but instead of going to Him to fill our needs...we try to fill our heart with counterfeits.
We were built to have a strong need for genuine love and a desire for fellowship with God...yet so many of us turn to outside sources to have that love and fellowship wrongly met through ungodly relationships, distractions, and addictions.
The ONLY one who can truly satisfy our soul is the One who created our soul.
If we are heading down the wrong road, we need to make a stunning stop...a screeching halt...and turn back around. We need to leave our sin, repent, start obeying, and make a big U-turn and drive back into God's grace.
Ask God to reveal to your heart the things He does not approve of. What breaks His heart needs to break our hearts too.
You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength. If there is sin in your life, God can empower you to leave your sin and start anew.
Trust that God is better than any sin. Taste and see that He is good. Seek to obey His Word, listen to Him, and embrace wisdom from this day forward!
