Grief Bites: Finding Treasure In HardshipsUzorak
I purposely chose to write more in-depth about losing a loved one towards the end of this Bible Reading Plan.
Grief is a subject that is very dear to my heart. Going through the deaths of my dad, sister, boyfriend, and many family members and friends, left me very broken as I was growing up and as a college student.
It was through salvation that I found the love of God...but it was through grief that I found the heart of God.
If you are grieving a loved one's death, I pray God comforts your heart.
The devastation of losing a loved one is horrific, and the greater you loved someone, the greater your grief will be.
There is hope though.
God is an incredible source of comfort and hope after you lose someone you love.
You may have experienced the death of a parent...a child...a sibling...a spouse...a boyfriend or girlfriend...a friend...a grandparent...a niece or nephew...a cousin...an in-law...or an aunt or uncle.
You may have been on good terms with your loved one or you may not have been.
You might not have even known the person who died if it was a parent or family member who abandoned you before you had the opportunity to ever meet them.
You may have experienced a miscarriage or maybe you are struggling with infertility.
Perhaps you are in anguishing regret because you had an abortion.
The loss of a loved one is deeply, deeply painful.
Grief brings many heartaches, challenges, and questions. It can lead to despair.
If you are going through grieving the death of a loved one, I invite you to read my 60 day bible reading plan, "Grief Bites: a new approach to growing through grief" on this (the Bible/YouVersion) app.
Praying right now for anyone who is experiencing grief. I pray for God to wrap His loving arms around your heart and pour His comfort into you. May you feel His presence in this very sad and difficult time in your life.
I am very sorry for your loss.
