DAY 12 OF 12

Good News

Meaningfully encountering Christ has a natural set of consequences. The gap between the Good News of this Kingdom and our ability to live as people liberated by the Good News sometimes seems too wide to span.

While the Apostle Paul would admonish us all to walk in a manner worthy of this Gospel, we often find ourselves forgetting what Jesus has done. We forget what we have found in Him.

Walking in the power of the Good News means putting faith in the finished work of Jesus. To put it plainly, it means to live your life as if what Jesus says in His Word is actually true.

While there will be seasons of great freedom and seasons of great pruning in the life of every believer, to follow Jesus long-term, we must constantly remind ourselves of what He has done. Truly, He has overcome!

You can take heart in the truth that Jesus promises us that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Jesus’ finished work means that He is committed to you until the end. Let this be an encouragement to you. As you read through Ephesians 1, take special note of every blessing we have received from what Christ has achieved for us. Which of these things do you currently struggle to believe to be your inheritance? Why do you think this is? Then, pray to God and ask Him to reveal the width, length, and height of your salvation in Christ. God wants us to walk in the fullness of what Jesus accomplished for us.
