Refresh: 21 Days of Prayer & FastingChikamu
3 John 1:2 (NASB) “Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.”
It’s so easy for Christian’s to gravitate to the thinking that if God wanted them to be happy and prosperous, He would have made them happy and prosperous. But that’s not how God and His kingdom work. It’s imperative we realize God has put us in charge of our life and gives us the responsibility and authority to create the life He’s authored for us to live!
When we read in Genesis 1 "in the beginning God created," we’re seeing the very first exposure of His character: God is a creator. It should be a simple step to understand that as His children we have that same characteristic in us. We too are called to be creators, creating our world in the same way our heavenly Father created this world — with words.
God could've created the world with every imaginable thing already created, but He takes delight in allowing his children to create things that manifest a better life, causing them to enjoy the process of knowing that their tomorrow can be better than today!
Solomon wrote in Proverbs 18:21 NIRV, “Your tongue has the power of life and death. Those who love to talk will eat the fruit of their words.” It’s not that using words gets us in trouble, it’s the words that we use. When the Apostle Paul said “and grieve not the Holy Spirit of God,” he was talking about our talk life!
Then 1 Peter 2:10 NLT explains it to us so clearly:“If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.”
Reflection: Do you see an area in your life where you can plant better "word seed?” If you do, then do it; be purposeful with your seed. Because you know that whatever you sow — you reap! Now thank the Father for His grace, that allows you to begin planting for a new and different harvest!
