A Minute For MommySample
Momma, Momma, Airplane!
I love how excited my boys get over the littlest things. We will be driving down the road and Caleb will shout joyfully, "Tractor moving!" I can bring home raisin bread from the grocery store and they cheer. My boys get the biggest smiles on their faces when they blow bubbles, go down a bumpy dirt road, or see dump trucks unloading dirt on the ground.
When Clay was two, we were playing outside. All of the sudden he yelled, very excitedly, "Momma, Momma, airplane!" Richard and I looked at him and were amazed at the joy he expressed over a plane he saw up in the sky. He was pointing and smiling as if he had seen the greatest thing in the world. And, to Clay, it probably felt that way. I love how my boys delight in today rather than worry about tomorrow. I wish I could be more like them.
Watching my boys embrace life reminds me how God's Word teaches us not to worry. God has promised us he will take care of all of our needs. He does not want us to get caught up in the day-to-day worries life has to offer. He wants us to enjoy life just like our children do. When was the last time you really did just that?
I want to encourage you to spend a little time today thinking about the simple things that bring you joy. Maybe it is the smell of homemade bread. Maybe it is the beauty of fresh flowers growing in your garden. Maybe it is just the joy you feel when your husband gets home from work or when your children get home from school. Thank God today for taking care of you and your family and for the little blessings life has brought your way.
