Indestructible

DAY 6 OF 7

Truly Indestructible

I want to biblically highlight to you just how indestructible you really are. Because we are indestructible, there must be an eternal place for every soul. There is an eternal heaven for those who believe and follow Christ in time. There is an eternal hell for those who neglect and reject Christ and His sacrifice of His life for them.

Now think for a moment.

What would it be like, even for one day, to burn, but not be consumed?

Awful right?

Let’s visit hell – it’s a bad eternal fire that cannot be quenched. How do we know?

Jesus visited hell and preached there.

1 Peter 3:19-20 (NIV)

After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits— to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water…

Jesus preached to the disobedient.

Here’s my point – they were still there. They were in hell thousands of years and still totally intact. This is how indestructible every human being is – we are eternal and indestructible.

Think about it! Thousands of years of hellfire can’t destroy you!

Let’s go to Luke and read a story Jesus was telling.

Luke 16:19-31 (NIV)

“…The rich man also died and was buried.  In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side.  So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’”

Notice the rich man was still intact. He still had senses. He could see Lazarus, speak, describe His thirst, and still remember people. He was still indestructible in hell.

This is huge! Even hell cannot destroy a soul. We are indestructible! We are eternal and nothing in time can destroy you or anyone.
