Day 6: Esther Goes to See King Xerxes

Three days passed. Esther’s heart was thudding, but she trusted that God would help her. She put on her favorite dress and went to see King Xerxes.

Do you think King Xerxes was angry when Esther disturbed him?

When King Xerxes saw Esther, he smiled! “Esther, I’m happy to see you! What do you want? Ask me for anything, even half of Persia, and I will give it to you!”

Esther said, “King Xerxes, I want to throw a banquet for you and Haman. Please bring Haman and join me.”

King Xerxes agreed.

Esther sighed with relief. But she was still worried. She still had to ask King Xerxes to save the Jews.

She wondered what King Xerxes would say when she told him that Haman was planning to kill all the Jews.
