Sing Praise: Five-Day Devotional by Passion Kids WorshipSample
I’ve Witnessed It
Some of the best stories to tell are the true ones! Perhaps you beat that hard level on a game, or you did an awesome new skateboard trick, or you finished a new book series. It’s natural to want to share the amazing things in our lives with the people around us – it’s one of the easiest ways to make friends; “Hey, you like to play soccer? Me too!”
But have you ever witnessed something amazing? Like a sunset at the Grand Canyon? Or maybe you saw a massive moose on a family vacation? Or watched a really fast car race? To witness something means to see it take place.
In the song, “I’ve Witnessed It”, we sing the lyrics about God’s character. He is good, strong, and constant. He loves, saves, and heals. And we proclaim that we’ve seen it ourselves!
Have you witnessed God’s goodness? Have you seen His strength? What are some ways that He is constant in your life?
God loves us – in fact, he loves us so much that he sent His only son Jesus to die for us, so that we could be saved from death!
If we take time to sit and think and remember all the ways that we have seen God at work in our lives and witnessed Him, we can lose count!
The Bible tells us that we shouldn’t keep the things we’ve witnessed to ourselves! See what King David says:
“My mouth will tell of your righteous deeds, of your saving acts all day long— though I know not how to relate them all.
I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, Sovereign LORD; I will proclaim your righteous deeds, yours alone.
Since my youth, God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.
Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come.”
Psalm 71:15-18
Don’t think you have to wait until you’re “old and gray” to tell the world about God’s righteous and marvelous deeds, saving and mighty acts, you can start now – however old you are.
When we tell others about God, and all he’s done for us – it’s a form of praise! It honors Him for us to share our stories.
The song says,
Your promises never fail
I've got stories I'll live to tell
So I'll pour out my praise again
You're worthy, God, You're worthy of all of it
What stories will you tell about all that God has done in your life? Praise Him for His marvelous acts – and share what you’ve witnessed with the world!
