Rest to the Weary
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28 (NIV)
God promises rest to the weary and burdened. To experience this rest, we first need to go to God. Most of our weariness and burdens come from relationships with our loved ones, and those around us in our place of stay, work etc.
To take God's yoke is learning to be gentle and humble. In our journey with people, being humble helps us know the other person and their actions. Being gentle helps us to respond in love rather than react. Reacting leads us to anger, annoyance, revenge and sin.
When humility and gentleness is our lifestyle, we realise God's yoke is easy, and His burden is light.
Be cautious. Understanding and responding in love should never encourage the other person to belittle or take advantage of us, leading to abuse. We operate from a place of strength, not weakness.
Prayer
Lord, help us to enjoy the rest that You promise us. Give us learning hearts to grasp and follow Your humility and gentleness in Jesus name. Amen.

About this Plan
With more than fifty citations from the Old Testament, Matthew stands in the gap to unfold the grand drape of the New Testament stage, proclaiming that all messianic prophecies in the past have now been fulfilled in Jesus. The Kingdom of God will now be extended through the building of Christ’s church, and the promise to make Abraham’s descendants numerous will now be fulfilled through the Great Commission.
