DAY 7 OF 11

Dilemma of the Rich

When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?” But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
Matthew 19:25-26 (ESV)

Jesus has a way of turning situations around by going directly to the heart. Most people in the developed world don’t realise that they have a comfortable and easy life until it gets taken away. The rich man thought that he had done everything to get eternal life until Jesus told him to sell his possessions. The rich man went away sad. Like the rich man, we need a wake-up call. True wealth is eternal in heaven, while earthly wealth is temporary.

Prayer

Father in heaven, help us to see true wealth that lies in heaven. Help us to let go of our earthly store houses by using them for Your Kingdom to store up treasures in heaven and not on earth. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
