Honor Your Dad and Mom
Colossians 3:20
Children, obey your parents in all things.
“Honor your parents” is one of God’s commandments. God made this commandment because He highly regards the roles of parents, and He wants children to honor them. Honoring your parents is not just obeying their rules but also treating them with much love and respect.
Your parents will always do their best to make sure that you grow up into the best person you can be. Sometimes, in this process, there are sacrifices that your parents need to make. Therefore, appreciate your parents by valuing their guidance. Respect them. Avoid disrespectful speech, an act that can hurt them. Saying a simple, “I love you,” means the world to them!
Furthermore, you need to understand that no parents are perfect. Sometimes they make mistakes too. But, despite their mistakes, God still wants you to honor your parents. You can learn from their mistakes and try not to do the same thing. And most importantly, forgive your parents and pray for them.
Prayer
Dear God, I pray today that you will help me to love and respect my parents. Amen.
