Powerhouse 30 Day Devotional

DAY 22 OF 30

The Words We All Want (or NEED) To Hear

What do you think are words we all want to hear? “Will you marry me?”; “Congratulations, you have successfully graduated from a bachelor?”; “Sold – to the guy in the white hat!” Some pretty important statements right there. But, could it be that one of the most important phrases we will hear won’t actually be words that we will hear in this lifetime, but perhaps the most important words we will hear are those that will be spoken when we enter into eternity? Matthew 25 depicts a very well-known story where a master leaves his gold (wealth and talents) in the hands of three seemingly capable servants and returns sometime later to find out how they have handled his wealth. His response to one of his servants who did nothing is pretty straight forward. He calls him lazy and wicked. But to the other two servants who did something with what they were given, he says these 6 words; “well done good and faithful servant.” Could it be that this is a depiction of our lives and what we choose to do with it? God has given us all our own gifts and talents, but what we choose to do with them is totally up to us (free will, crazy huh?). This week we’re going to look at each of those words (WELL DONE GOOD & FAITHFUL SERVANT) and see how we shape up… no pressure!

Prayer: God, we pray that it would be said of us that we are the type of people who live with purpose, live with direction and live with a sense of eternity! Help us to make the most of our gifts, our talents and our lives. Amen.

About this Plan

Powerhouse 30 Day Devotional

How do we live for Christ? That's a big question, and ultimately we can't figure that one out by ourselves. In order to do so, we have to seek God, live by His Spirit and get to know Him more.  Join with us over these next 30 days as we journey together and learn how to live a life more Christ centred and ways we can become more in love with Jesus.
