Did Someone Say I HAVE to Serve? 

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: You don’t HAVE to do anything! There is, however, something really cool about people who understand that this life, and all that they have been given isn’t just about them and their little lot in life. It’s the people who have decided that while they’re on this earth they’re going to serve people in any way they can and use the gifts they’ve been given to impact people that excites me. The reality is, as Young Adults we will always have 1,000 excuses as to why can’t serve people. “I’m too busy”, “I don’t have an outgoing personality”, “I don’t have the money”, “I’m actually running from the police” (that was a joke). As Christians, our goal is to follow Jesus and he sets the best example for us when it comes to having a servant heart. So much so, that he would willingly lay down his life for us so that EVERYONE would have an opportunity to receive freedom. I’m not suggesting you lay down your life but I want you to ask yourself, “where in my life do I need to get better at having a servant heart”? It could be in your family, with your work friends, at church or maybe it’s just a change of attitude when it comes to those around you and thinking about others before yourself?

Prayer: God, help us to never lose sight of Jesus and the perfect example He set in servanthood. We pray that as we go about our everyday lives, You’d prompt us and nudge us as to where we can serve people in our world. Amen
