Your Heavenly Home: Heaven is beautiful
The great Italian actor and director Roberto Benigni won all kinds of awards for his film "La Vita e Bella"--"Life Is Beautiful." The title is bitterly ironic. The hero is an Italian Jew who was thrown into a Nazi prison camp with his little boy and eventually shot. We all try our best to control our environment, but no matter how hard we try, the ugliness of sin and death break in.
The Bible says that life in heaven, the holy city, will be beautiful--for real! St. John was allowed to peek. He said, “It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel. . . . The city [was made] of pure gold, as pure as glass” (Revelation 21:11,18).
God is the beauty of heaven, and what’s amazing is that he allows us to share his glory there forever.
