He became the Son of Man

Here’s another question: Does the concept of God scare you? Does God seem remote to you--aloof, alien, totally unapproachable? Well, in a sense God has held himself at a distance from his creation. But the names he has chosen for himself reveal a great deal about his identity and purposes.

Look, for instance, at the names Jesus gave himself. His favorite term for himself is “Son of Man.” He could have called himself “Glorious King” or “Supreme Dictator,” but he chose to emphasize his humanity. Think of it, the Savior took on human flesh to become our personal bridge to eternal life with God. He became the Son of Man so that we could be adopted as sons and daughters of God. “You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:26).
