So Be ItSample
Jesus often prayed first thing in the morning and in a place where he could be alone with His Father. So what does this mean for you and me? Praying early and alone as Jesus did has good reason. Praying to your Father in heaven before you get started in your day, sets your heart and affections in the right direction before the worries of this life have a chance to steal them. Praying alone indicates the “special-ness” of the relationship you have with your Heavenly Father. It’s like a dad taking his daughter on a date. She loves it because it’s just the two of them spending time together. God loves going on a date with His children and prayer is the conversation during that time.
Heavenly Father, give me the desire to rise early and spend time with you before the challenges of this life steal my affections. Give me the strength and the fortitude to sit in your presence, hear from you, and receive the direction you have for my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen and So Be It.
