Oh, these verses are packed with the marks of a godly friendship! Every day the world gives out huge doses of corruption, anger and selfishness. But because of Jesus and what He’s done for us, we are called to different, contrasting behavior in our relationships with others. Behavior that will make us stand out and be a light for Jesus in this dark world! Build up with words. Give grace unconditionally. Be kind and gentle, even when we’ve not been shown kindness first. Forgive. Not because someone deserves it, but because we have been forgiven by our generous, loving God. Do you have a friendship that is strained, or someone in your life who is difficult to love?
