This chapter in Colossians speaks to the change that happens in us when we have been made new in Christ. leaving the former worldly self, and instead “putting on” Christ. As we become more and more like Jesus, of course, this means that our friendships should look differently too! Today’s verses call for some self-evaluation in my own life. Do I practice forgiveness in my friendships regularly? Am I quick to become angry, or do I demonstrate patience and humility in my relationships? Am I loving my friends generously and with intention? Do my friends see primarily worldly desires or Jesus in me? God, help me to “put off” my selfish tendencies, and to “put on” Your love in my interactions with others today!
