Which Way are You Going?
Read Mark 16: 1-8

“You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him” Mark 16:6

The women who had been with Jesus, got up very early to go to anoint His body. They went, in faith, even though they foresaw an enormous obstacle – a big stone blocking the tomb. They met an angel who told them to go in a different direction, away from death, despair and hopelessness and to run with the message of life and hope to the disciples. They were also told that Jesus would be waiting for them. All of us have had our lives turned around because we have encountered the resurrected Christ. We were all sinners heading for eternal damnation, but Jesus saved us and gave us eternal life. We were lost, but now we are found.

We are all now in a marathon – a lifelong test of our faith. Our passion for Christ will keep us energized, able to persevere and endure the pains and struggles along the way. Sharing our faith enables us to hold on to it more firmly. Do not burn out; keep fuelled and aflame. Stay alert and resist distractions from the world or the evil one. Forgive and forget what’s behind and keep looking ahead, fixing our eyes, lives and hearts on Jesus. Run in such a way as to get the prize – the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him (James 1:12)!

Pray for non-believing family members and friends that they might have life changing encounters with Jesus.
